I feel smothered! And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Dudes. These little Progresso recipe starters are pretty rad. Especially on those nights when you don’t have the energy for anything but a Bridezillas marathon on the TVs.
Don’t tell me you don’t watch that show. It’s only the most horrible and brilliant program in existence. 89% fake, and 100% awesome.
Add a Progresso recipe starter, and you’re 15,000% golden!
Let’s make some Creamy Smothered Chicken and Mushrooms, shayall way?
Grab some chicken, mushrooms, some garlic, an onion, a leek, butter, flour, a can of Progresso’s creamy Portobello mushroom sauce, and some pasta! (not pictured because my hair was on fire.)
Okay, this is so good. Melt some of your butter with the oil. I love the way butter swirls around in a pan. Mmmm. Okay, then dredge your chicken breasts in some flour. Then get ‘em all browned in the pan. Both sides. Oh yeah.
Then you remove the chicken from the pan and start on the veggies. Get the rest of the oil and butter all melted in the pan. Add the onions and leeks. Oh man, the way this smells is going to mess.you.up.
Then add the garlic and mushrooms! Get it all gloriously soft and browned.
Then you’ll nestle the chicken back in the skillet and pour the creamy mushroom sauce over the chicken. And then pass the freak out. Put the lid on it and let it simmer for about 12 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked all the way through.
In the meantime, cook up some angel hair pasta! Or if that’s not your bag, anything’ll work.
Check on that chicken. Hoooooooooooo. Lyyyyyyyyyy.
Serve that bad to the bone creamy smothered chicken over a bed of angel hair and garnish with parsley!
Being smothered has never tasted so good.
