It’s New Year’s Eve.

It’s time to party. It’s time to make these Fried Mozzarella Cheese Balls.

You heard me right: Fried cheese. Breaded, fried cheese. Breaded, fried, melty mozzarella cheese. With a zesty, tomato-y pizza sauce in which to dip them.

Can you handle the deliciousness? Of course you can. And your guests will thank you for it at tonight’s end-of-the-year bash.

Here’s how to get the party started:

Cut up those mozzarella cheese cubes

Cut up those mozzarella cheese cubes like a boss. May I suggest some party music to get your pregame on while you make this recipe?

Get your breading station ready

Next, get your breading station ready. That’ll be a party of three: Flour, eggs with milk and Italian style breadcrumbs. Set them side-by-side, in order (flour, eggs, breadcrumbs) on a table or countertop.

Bread those cheese cubes

Now it’s time to bread those cheese cubes. Roll them in the flour, dip them in the egg and roll again in the breadcrumbs.

And now for the main event – the frying! Sorry, no pictures here—I was too busy frying. Long sleeves and aprons are a good call here, perhaps also while doing the “Safety Dance.”

Dipping sauce

After those babies are fried, it’s time to heat up the pizza sauce for dipping.

Bite out of cheese ball

And now, it’s time that I dip, you dip, we dip. That’s how you party like it’s (almost) 2012.

Awesome!! Too bad I didn’t see this before New Years but it will definitely make for a righteous snack/side dish. Much love!
